Dear Yulegoat,

Thanks so much for writing for me! I will be thrilled to receive a story in any of these canons, so please don't read too much into the prompt lengths. If you already have an idea you're fired up to write, please get started! Finding out what other people love about a canon is one of the things I like about fandom.

Stuff I Like: people working together to overcome obstacles, snark and snappy dialogue, banter, darkfic, place as character, postapocalyptic, N Times Characters Did A Thing. Solving love triangles with OT3s. Worldbuilding. Food descriptions! I have a bulletproof love of competence, including competence at being villainous, and characters finding connections and trusting each other. If crossovers and fusions are your things, go for it: I am a fan.

Do Not Wants: PWP, bloodplay, coffeeshop AU, high school/college AU, explicit descriptions of sexual assault, cross-generation (May-December) ships, cheating and/or infidelity, violence much more intense than canon-typical levels.

Gen or Shippy? Add "in bed" to any of the likes and no not wants and ship away. I am in favor of consenting adults enjoying each others' company and quirks (and kinks).

Happy Yuletide!

The Company Novels - Kage Baker (Joseph, Lewis): It's Team Graveyard Game! If you are pressed for canon review time, that's the only novel you really need to review if you want to suss out the dynamics of these two characters. If you're familiar with the rest of canon, I am here for the comitragic team of Joseph and Lewis, and am less thrilled with Mendoza's later arc. Okay, I have great sympathy for Joseph's position on Mendoza's boyfriends, there, I said it. However, Lewis and Joseph are a great comedy duo, and I would love to read about one of their adventures either working for the Company, trying to evade the Company, or after 2355. Kage Baker loved writing about Hollywood and cinema, is there a chance these gentlemen were involved in a movie caper? What might the 2010's look like from a Company perspective? If that's too topical, what about the heyday of Old Hollywood? Or a trip to Regency London? Scotland of the 24th Century? With Joseph somehow griping about the Project Adonai gentlemen?

I do not particularly see these two as a shippy pair, but if you do, go for it. I do tend to see these two as having great comedic potential, if comedy - or a rom-com - is your thing.

Alliance-Union - C. J. Cherryh (Damon Konstantin, Elene Quen, Joshua Talley): I would love to know what happened post-War that Damon didn't take up his father's post and Elene did. I would not mind Estelle backstory at all. I would find that missing scene where Josh says, "so, Norway," and Damon says, "um, what?" highly relevant to my interests. I would be absolutely okay with five double-drabbles(-ish) of these three interacting, strewn across time and space. I would be perfectly happy with a gen (or gen-ish, or shippy) post-War pre-Cyteen story, if you want to just revel in the cold war politics of the Merchanter's Alliance, Union, and Sol. Either internal - imagine Quen and Mallory politicking! - or external. I will make an exception to my usual stance that pining is boring for late Downbelow Station Damon/Elene to the slightly ironic tune of "They Can't Take That Away From Me". Because, of course, a key plot point in that novel is that memory wipes just might take it all away.

If you are into threesomes, Josh/Damon/Elene is the utterly uncanonical OT3 of my heart.

Ile-Rien - Martha Wells (Florian, Tremaine Valiarde): My love for scrappy, irreverent, cold-blooded, contradictory Tremaine knows know bounds. Florian starts the Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy minimizing herself, and learns not to underestimate her worth in the crush of events, which is an arc I also really like. Both of them are underestimated by their opponents, to their opponents' detriment, partly because of the women's teamwork. For this Yuletide, I would love a story that puts Florian and Tremaine front and center. Missing scene on the Ravenna? Florian and Tremaine in Vienne after they're cut off from Cineth? Does the intervention of Cineth's god let Tremaine and Florian ever meet again, after Tremaine chooses to join Ilias in Cineth? N Times Florian Wanted To Talk To Tremaine, And One Time She Did?

I do not object to Ilias and Giliead, because who could? They're awesome. If you would like to include them, or any other characters in the Ile-Rien novels (poor Arites, cough), I would enjoy seeing them pop up too.
