Yuletide Reveals
I wrote "Ghost Writer", based on 100 books that SHOULD be written. The idea of writing a story spun off another transformative work, in an entirely different medium, tickled my fancy. The prompt made this even more of a joy. Earhart lived an interesting and rich life; if this fic is any good it's because I had so much fun doing the historical research. The first round of research and the beginnings of a first draft got off the ground at a local meetup. Attempts at Write All The Words foundered, especially in the face of unexpected non-Yuletide events. Cutting goals into bite-sized chunks of 100 Of The Words worked much better, especially with Written? Kitten! piling up the word count.
I received "Air, Water, Food, Check...Condoms? Oops". I am so happy my gift touched on several of my bulletproof themes - filling out worldbuilding, female friendship, problem solving - which I had hoped for but wasn't sure any reasonable author would manage to squeeze into one Yuletide fic.
