Spielberg? No, no. Interstellar was directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan, the Dark Knight Trilogy guy. Interstellar is the only movie of his I actually love because it is the only movie of his that I've seen that places human feelings and connection at its center. The other movies that I'm familiar with were stone cold techno-fantasies likeInception. Ugh. It's been a long time since I've seen it but while Memento impressed a lot of people, it didn't do much for me. I'd have to see Interstellar again before I could come up with a competing interpretation to yours but yeah, on the face of it, I have to disagree with you on this one. Questionable science--well of course. All of his movies have that in common as far as I can tell.
